SINGAPORE: Day 2 – City Tour

Date: June 16, 2011

This was the day that what I can only remember were the happenings at the start and the end of it (especially now that it had been 6 months since). Other than that, everything was a blur. I cannot even remember which photo came first and without the “date taken” details, I am useless. The day started with a train ride and a very nice breakfast. Food Republic serves the best dimsum though they were rather priced steeply. We did not plan to get our breakfast there but we were forced to because we arrived early and the place we intended to visit did not open until 30minutes after we arrived. The place was the Suntec Convention Center and in there you will find the office of the Duck and Hippo Tours. Second day is “tour the city” day! We went to a lot of places, all of which I cannot really remember but what I can tell you is that we got the 1-day tour service. For more information, visit their site (http://www.ducktours.com.sg/). After the city tour, I left my friend Buding with Anne back in Suntec and rode the last bus back to Orchard to meet up with my Intel colleagues. We proceeded to have dinner elsewhere and went to Clark Quay. That place was super expensive! A jug of beer was $25SGD and every serving of viand was priced close to the beer!! The food tasted great but the serving was very little so as a conclusion, that area isnt really for frugal travellers. During dinner, I was texting with my college friends for a meet up before going back home. I bade my work friends adieu and reunited with my dudettes. I wasnt expecting it but surprised, oh was I! Myra made it with them! I was supposed to meet up with Myra in Suntec but I left early in order to ride the last bus to Orchard. We had a little chit-chat, about life and work and had some pictures taken with “the ring”. Please notice how beautiful Myra’s engagement ring is. Royalty! Again, because of the midnight end of operations,  we made it for the last 2 train rides to home. It was very evident in our expression on the last pictures that everybody was super tired already. I would have passed out on that train if it werent for some unexplained remnants of strength. All in all, the second day was AWESOME!
