SINGAPORE: DAY 1 PM
Date: June 15, 2011
After the morning spent with Yohan, we went to go to the Nike Store in SG.
Some mishap actually happened, I forgot part of my itinerary at home. Good thing I had Nang Irish’s number in my phone and Annetot had an extra SIM she made us borrow… So we only had to buy load for it and that was why we were able to go to Yohan’s house..
And another good thing is that, I have memorized the first day itinerary by heart.
We went to the MRT station and off we were to Clementi…
It was nice to stroll around the place at your own pace. But made us miss some of the places that we were supposed to visit. Oh well.. So many things has happened in this four to five hour adventure that it was nothing but fun..
The first stop was the Nike Store. The MRT station interchange was something that you need to get used to so we were not that sure at first but the signs were very redundant and were easily identifiable that we were able to make it from Sembawang to Jurong East Interchange and then to Clementi.
The outlet store wasnt near the MRT station so we had to take the bus. There are bulletin boards in the bus stops that identifies the bus numbers and their routes so commuting through public transportation is very easy. You can ask people for directions as well. But make sure to ask for a second advise just to be sure.
Inside the Nike store, I saw a pair of shoes with a little bit of the design I want for my next running shoes, but the thing was, the soles were very thin so I decided not to get them. But now, I really wish I had because the price in that outlet store is really a bargain. I might go to Laguna to check the outlet store before the month ends. I badly need the shoes for my diet-exercise-regimen.
We roam around the mall a little, went to the loo to freshen up and took some photos for souvenir.
We decided to cross the bridge and go to the establishments at the other side of the road and so we saw hawkers. There were electronics shops as well with bakeries beside it. I was checking ear phones for my sister. I decided not to buy the first one I saw but we did buy samples of the pastries in the nearby bakery.
We went back to the mall of the outlet store for a free ride back to the MRT.
The next stop was a shopping center in Queenstown. The first Uncle we asked directions from pointed us to the wrong side of the street but it was a blessing as well since it made one of my dreams come true. WALL’S ICE CREAM!! Locally this is known as selecta. But the Auntie side street vendor had a lot of flavors that you can choose from. Since we were a little bit full from our Breakfast,Miryenda and Lunch, we decided to share one slab. Very nice experience. From then on, I can see one or two of these mobile ice cream stations all over the city.
We checked the stuff that were on sale and weren’t enticed to buy. But don’t get me wrong, I wanted to buy some but I was being practical.
The heat was just too much and the water was just too dear so in the afternoon, heatstroke was what I got. Thanks to our ever dependable McDonalds for the tall Sprite, I felt a little okay after 30min. My feet were aching as well, so sitting for a bit did some wonders.
After this pitstop, we were off to go to the Night Safari and that will be my next post…
