Joy Macapagal-Querido, A Keeper

30 Mar

It is very rare these days to find a person that is so true and so nice that one can wish they have met them sooner. This is how I feel towards my friend, my Kumare Joy. I have this habit of giving pet names to people close to me and for this particular friend, I am fond of calling her Joyful.

I remember, my first ever real interaction with her was when she offered to drive me to Eastwood to have a better opportunity of hailing a cab. That was during our department christmas party in 2010.

So you see, we were meant to be close. Circumstances or shall we say fate made that happen. :D

I am not really happy of what she had to go through and eventually I had to experience before we got this close but I am most grateful that because of those circumstances, I got to know her better as a person, a woman, a wife, a mother, and a friend. She is the AWESOMEST person you will ever find. I cannot further express in words how a good person she is. She just is.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOY-FUL! May you, Erks, bebe Ikay and the rest of your family be blessed more and more because you deserve them. More love, happiness, babies, blessings forever!

I know I have not been a responsible friend but I appreciate all the effort (lam mo na yun, kung hindi man, basta) and because of that I love you more! And babawi ako! Promise!

Again, Maligayang Araw ng Iyong Kapanganakan!! <3<3<3

My Grand Daughter Lyn-Lyn

16 Mar

Her real name is Lynelle Eris Cordero. She is kind of wary of strangers but that is to be expected of children. They are supposed to be that. For Lyn-lyn, you just need to know what strings to pull in order to be more acquainted with her. A little ice cream bribe or a photo session like we did here can pique her interest and make her come to you.

She is ADORABLE! Everytime a photo is taken, she immediately wants to see what was captured. She’ll smile or give a little squeal after that.

She’s so cute in her baby doll dress in these photos. This is how you dress your baby not that you have her wear backless dresses and short skirts. She also have ballet flats that are just lovely, I myself am envious.

I totally love her and someday I want to have my own cutie pie like she is.

Rose Gold Rose Ring

3 Feb

I have seen rose gold, in some of the blogs I follow, for two seasons already. Had an earring of that color but my Mom liked it so much that I had no other choice but to give it to her. She followed me while I was on my way out of the house, just to remind me of the earring! I had to give it away even though I really really liked it.

Anyways, this post is for another reason. A few days ago, somebody important to me told me that she was on the hunt for a good wedding band. I told her there is this new kind of gold in the market and its so pretty! She asked me what and I told her of the new gold, rose gold. She asked me what it was and i told her that it was pinkish gold. She begged off as soon as I mentioned pink. I forgot, she doesnt like pink. :D

Anyhow, even though she doesnt like it, I continued to do the quest because of my obsession with rose gold. And common, those close to me will know that I love JEWELRY!

I went on to google “Rose Gold Ring” and one of the offerings really caught my eye. Its not the first one on the list but rather was positioned on the bottom part of the first page. Here is that beauty I first saw in this site .

Folks, here is the Anita Go Gardenia Ring. 18karats of rose gold crafted into perfection encrusted with 2.05karats of white diamonds.

The girls I am most with these days may have observed that I really really like flower rings, especially rose rings. This one being rose gold and designed to mimic a rose in full-bloom makes me want it more! The little chunks of baby diamonds are like icing to the cake. What more can one ask for?

Love love love the details!!!!

This was the initial image I saw and immediately fell in love with it.

The size in not that small to go unnoticed and not that big to consume the person wearing it. :D

The back and bottom details shows that it was not just designed to be beautiful but sturdy as well.

I cant really afford this ring, that I acknowledge even without really knowing how much it costs. But who will stop a girl like me from admiring a beauty such as this ring. :D

PS: This is my very first page post under the new page I created a while ago. I hope to continue to do this for a very long time. Sometimes I really have to write about all the beauty I see around me or even on the virtually accessed world wide web. I had fun doing this post and I hope you did too while reading it!

Love love!

New Year 2011

7 Jan

If there is one thing that keeps on getting stronger year after year is my belief that I can never count on anyone besides my immediate family. Most of them, if not all.

Here are some pictures of the vacation that my siblings and I had when Patrick and Gemille came for their great 2010 year-ender vacation. It wasnt included in my initial post because these were taken using my phone.

These following pictures were taken when we went to Robinson’s Pioneer have lunch (Shakey’s) and do some shopping for the younger sibs.

Also part of the itinerary that I made was a trip to Tagaytay. Because of the long line in Leslie’s, we went to Starbucks first and had some cake and coffee… Here are some shots we took, after my camera died on us, when we were done with the late lunch .

The day before the New Year 2011, we went to Tita Jill’s house to celebrate Lola Nonoy’s birthday. Below is the only picture I have taken from that occasion.

After Sta. Mesa, we went to Shangrila Mall EDSA to do some further RnR. At the lobby of the mall, there was this giant Christmas Tree. We dont believe but we cant pass up the chance to get our pictures taken under the tree.

January 1, 2011. They were scheduled to go home to Iloilo. Here are some pictures before our siblings bid farewell to Manila, ending the two week stay for a vacation and go back to the life of being students again.

I hope we can do this again before the year ends!! <3<3<3<3

Nene at Bonifacio High Street

1 Sep

My most favorite eating buddy is my sister, D to her friends, Matutina to me. If ever I get the opportunity to eat at a new place that I liked, I would coax her to go and try it also. She does the same thing to me.

I have eaten at Contis a number of times already and they have got the cheapest but nevertheless tasty steaks and very superb dessert choices. One fine Sunday morning, we decided to go to Taguig. She was craving for some seafood. We went around the restaurants in the area that served seafood but they were all super dear, beyond my budget for a decent meal. So we had Bugong chicken instead and some Ineng’s special barbecue.

Then we decided to take a stroll and walk to the Bonifacio High Street area. Then I thought, we can have our dessert at Contis. I don’t have other photos than the ones we have inside the restaurant. It was Matut’s first time and she the same as I when I first tried it, fell for the Mango Bravo and the Strawberry Cheesecake. The next are snippets of some happy moments we had that time. I hope you are also salivating over them as I am now.  Cheers to good food!!

The infamous Contis.

Nene was super excited. The service that day was actually super slow. We waited for a good 15-20 minutes just for the dessert. But because we were in such a good mood, we decided not to bother and pester the servers. We waited patiently for our cakes.

Here they are!

Strawberry Cheesecake.

Mango Bravo. We have devoured some of it already before I remembered getting a photo.

Pasalubong for ME!

1 Sep

I love to give people gifts not that I expect something in return. It’s just that I have this tendency to buy things for other people. When I walk around and I see or experience things may it be food, clothing or what not’s, I easily associate them to people who are dear to me. My line of thinking is usually like this, “Oh, Nene would love to try this or Joyjoy would want to have one of these.”

Getting something in return is a different matter. I experience this not so frequent and receiving a gift or a “pasalubong” or a treat from someone is something for me. Super something! I don’t get this often from relatives other than my cousins. Most of the time, it’s my friends who gives me things.

Last June, my friend Buding gave me this pasalubong which I really liked. She came home for her two months of hiatus from work aka long vacation.

The chocolate ofcourse was a goner in just one sitting. The shirt fits! Yey for me! I wore it in our trip to SG. I havent uploaded the photos yet so you may not have seen me wearing it but I did and I have worn it out to work or to anywhere already. One word, super comfy.

I also got this phone charm from her. I am not really into blinging my phone but this is special so I had to use them. My blackberry (office phone) doesnt have a slot for this charm but good thing I coerced my sister’s friend to give me the protector casing of her BB. Now I have something to tie this charm into. :D

The box says Hasumi or Graceful. I dont know if I am that but I super loved it!!!

Thanks Buding for the Super pasalubong! You were asking for a photo of this for quite a while already. I had these since the next night you gave them to me, its just that I have not had the time to post them. And because its so long overdue, this post came with an article.

Heaven and Eggs Date with Matuts

6 Feb

My sister and I try to spend most of the weekend with each other. Lately, what we usually do other than sleep to our hearts content is go out and eat something special. This Saturday, we decided to go to Heaven and Eggs at the Glorietta 4, Makati.

She had been babbling about the restaurant ever since somebody made her aware of its existence. So here goes some of the pictures we had. They are basically us and the food that we had that day.

Marinated beef tapa in omellete style served with garlic rice and atchara

This was what Matutina had for dinner. Early dinner actually because the time was nearly 4PM when we went inside the restaurant. We had a hard time finding it. I googled the restaurant a few days back but I forgot to jot down the location. Minutes before we went out of the house, I was searching for the location of another restaurant (Contis). The latter’s information must have won over other memories inside my head so we went to Greenbelt instead of Glorietta. Good that these malls are just short walking distances away from each other, it could have been WW3 (Matutina does not like walking).

She is not an omelet fan so this dish was served with some premature judgement. But after my sister had a bite off it, she liked the taste of the tapa inside.

Tropical pancakes with banana and pineapple, drizzled with coconut rum syrup, topped with nuts and toasted coconut

I was craving for pancakes the whole week and finally I was given the chance to address it. But this one was too sweet for me. This photo was taken after I devoured one of the pancakes. Originally, this was served with 3 pancakes topped with pineapples and nuts.

Breakfast with a French twist, crumbly pastry enclosing a creamy custard of eggs, mushrooms, bacon and cream, served with their signature side salad

I was most disappointed with how this dish tasted like. Oh well, another one charged to experience. On a happier note, I really liked the salad that came with it.  :D

This weekend was my sister’s turn to pay for the food. Thanks Matuts! Love you! Love you! :D :D

This was taken using my BB and there was a spotlight directed at our table so please excuse the picture quality.
