A week ago I received this personal message from a friend. She saw pictures of the stuff I bought for some friends before. Because she has no time to do some personal shopping for her loved ones and at the very least for herself, she decided to employ my services to do those things for her.

I told her to do a “peg” board in order for me to see what her fashion aesthetics was. But it so happened that I was participating in a bazaar. And for the last week of it, I decided to take pictures of the items I was selling and post them online. I wasn’t expecting the response I got but more than 50% of the items I had were sold. This friend of mine got 3 from the lot I was offering. Because of this, I had a little idea of what things she really liked. She messaged me today asking how much she should pay me for my services. I told her that anything she deemed appropriate for the fare and the time I spent in buying for her will suffice. I haven’t really figured how much to charge in these cases I’m getting.

Later today, a friend/relative asked if I had more empire cut mini dresses or blouses. I offered to buy more for her. We agreed to see each other later this week. I will bring her the 6 items she wanted as well as some of the clothes I suggested for her to wear.

See, Im on a roll! Thus I decided to embrace these opportunities. A few hours ago, also in my facebook pagel, I made a great announcement. I am adding another title under my belt, Geevie Lou Palec – Personal Shopper for Hire.

I have been buying stuff for friends and for friends’ friends in the past and even until now. I did not take the suggestions on becoming a real personal shopper seriously because who would pay me to do that? But now, I think I’m changing that initial decision I had.

I should have done this announcement earlier but as they say, better late than never. Friends, I am now a personal shopper for hire!!

Shopping for Others: One Hobby I so Love!!

Two weekends ago, my housemates and I went to Eastwood to do some needed rest and relaxation. Actually it wasn’t really that. The work week previous to that weekend, I was obsessing over the selections that were being offered in the bazaar being held at the activity center of Eastwood City Walk. I saw some things that I really want for myself but because I really couldn’t get them for personal use, I was thinking of people who can instead.

So when I went home that Friday night, I told my housemate that I saw this bodycon dress that I know will fit her like a glove. And that was it. Everybody that night was very excited for the trip. Initially, we planned to go to Chocolate Kiss in UP Diliman and then go to the bazaar. However I somehow overslept while waiting for my housemates to go home from their night shift work, so we ended up having lunch at Uncle Cheffy’s in Eastwood mall instead. Too bad the phone that contained all our pictures inside of the restaurant got stolen before we even had the chance to copy them. But I think the memories that day we will forever treasure.

We went to browse through the dresses and a friend got 3  for less than one thousand pesos. All that time we were there until we got home, she cant get over the fact that she had 3 dresses for that amount! While buying the dresses, she was constantly asking of what particular pair of shoes she needs to wear with the dresses. She insisted that she doenst want to buy and that we make our choices from the pairs that she already have in her closet. I told her I really cant remember all the shoes that she have and that we will decide on that when we get home.
